Kuregårdsstenen & a grave stone

Kuregårdsstenen – This stone was discovered in 1856 on Kuregården’s grounds, where it stood as a capstone for a crossing. Previously it would have served as backing for a small mill which stood on Kurebakken near the farm. In 1857, the stone was moved to the churchyard. There is a ribbon of of rune inscription which reads, “Sven and Kæld raised the stone after their father, Julger (?)”

Gravestone – This stone dates from the Catholic time. It was first registered in 1819. It stood in the churchyard. Later it was split in two and bricked into the belltower. It was recovered and placed here in 1881. The stone itself dates from either the 1200’s or the 1300’s. There’s an escutcheon on the lower end with the name ‘Anders’. The last name is illegible.
