Glömminge Kyrka

The roots of this church reach back to the mid-1100’s with the tower, north wall and gable preserved from that time. The towerhad loopholes and a high placed doorway related to it’s function as a defensive tower. It was renovated around 1240 and again in the 1300’s.

In 1641 – A pipe organ was installed by Master Greger of Norrköpping, but it was burned or removed and lost in 1672 when the Danish ravaged the island.

Extensive renovations during the 1800’s gave it much of its current appearance.
