The tower is the oldest part of the church built in the 1100s as a defensive structure. The nave was constructed during the 1300’s as a single chamber. In the latter part of the 1600’s, the church burned. Only the walls remained standing and the structure was rebuilt.

There are several items dating from the 1300’s to 1700’s, the most interesting of which is a flagon from 1637 with the curious inscription, ‘Cursed be he that taketh away the pitcher and the people say Amen’.
