Biskopskulla Kyrka (Bishop’s Hill Church)

This church was built in the 1100’s and early parts of the 1200’s in the roman style. The tower was added sometime in the 1200’s. Not much else is known from the early history of the church, though there is speculation that it was a private project. No runestones, and most of the gravestones are from the mid to late 1900’s. I only found 2 that predated 1900. There were two other small very weathered stones almost hidden by some bushes, but if they were gravestones, I couldn’t tell. If they are, they were very, very old.

There is a museum for Bishop Hill (named in English even, not my translation from Swedish), but I didn’t get a look at it.
